A gender reveal game for families who live far apart
The gender reveal nobody can spoil.
Not even you. Your phone reads the sealed result with its screen dark. Then the whole family takes turns lifting cups on your video call until somebody finds the answer.
No app. No accounts. Up to 12 players on their own phones.
Go on. Lift a cup.
Every cup has its eyes shut. One of them is hiding something.
The envelope problem
Somebody always knows.
The clinic hands you a sealed envelope. Then someone has to open it to make the cake, fill the balloon, or pack the confetti cannon. Now there's a person at your party trying very hard to keep a straight face.
- KnowsThe baker
- KnowsThe balloon shop
- KnowsYour sister, who "just wanted to help"
- Doesn'tAnyone, with Nobody Peeks
How it works
Three steps. One secret.
Read the script
Your doctor just handed you the answer in a sealed envelope, and now somebody has to open it.
Not anymore. With Nobody Peeks, your phone reads the card for you: boy, girl, or twins.
Tap “Scan card,” turn your head away, and hold the card up to the back camera. You see the blank back. The camera sees the answer.
When your phone says “Scan successful,” put the card away. The game knows. You don't.
Then your whole family plays together on your video call, lifting cups or playing another fun game, with a few fake-outs along the way. Somebody finds it, and every screen gets the answer in the same second.
Nobody Peeks. The gender reveal nobody can spoil.

1
Scan it blind
Turn your head away and hold the card from the clinic up to your phone. The screen stays black, you hear a countdown and a click, then your phone says "Scan successful" and the answer is locked into the game. Two separate reads have to agree or it asks you to try again. The photo is never stored.

2
Send four letters
Everyone joins on their own phone with a room code or a link. No app to install, no sign-up, nothing for Grandpa to forget his password to. If he'd rather not tap at all, he calls out a cup number and the host taps it for him. Everyone picks Team Boy or Team Girl before you start.

Play it live
Get on your usual video call, or put it on the TV, and take turns lifting cups. Rubber ducks. Single socks. Fake-outs with a full drumroll. Then, eventually, somebody lifts the one.
The reveal
One cup. Every screen. The same second.
Drumroll in every living room. Confetti on every phone. Then a scoreboard of who called it, so Grandma can be insufferable about it for years.
The fine print, up front
Built so nothing can spoil it.
It never guesses
Two independent reads must land on the same answer. Blurry, dark, or ambiguous means "try again", never a coin flip.
No photo kept
Read once, then discarded. Only the locked result is saved, and it's deleted with the room after 30 days.
Colors don't count
A pink envelope or blue ink proves nothing, so the reader only accepts the answer itself, written or clearly marked.
Twins, handled
Two boys, two girls, or one of each. The reveal shows exactly what's on the card.
Practice is free
Run a rehearsal with a made-up answer so the whole family knows the drill before reveal day.
Any call, any phone
FaceTime, Zoom, Meet, WhatsApp. If it has a web browser, it can play.

Questions
Asked by nervous parents.
How can I scan the card without seeing it?
Turn your head away and hold the card in front of your phone's back camera while the screen stays black. After a short countdown it takes three quick photos and sends them to the card reader. Your phone then says "Scan successful" out loud, or "Scan not successful" with a hint like "too dark" or "step back a little", so you never have to look. The photo is never shown.
How accurate is the card reader?
Two separate reads of your photos have to land on exactly the same answer, or the scan doesn't count and you're asked to try again. It ignores colors and printed "Boy or Girl?" templates and only accepts a clearly written or clearly marked answer. When it isn't sure, it says so instead of guessing.
Is the photo stored anywhere?
No. The photos are read once and thrown away. Only the locked-in result is saved, and the whole room, result included, is deleted 30 days after your game.
So who knows the answer before the reveal?
No person. The result is locked inside the game. It isn't shown on any screen or sent in any email, and nobody can look it up. It appears on every screen at the moment the game reveals it: the right cup, the last layer, the pop, or the fall.
What do relatives need to join?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a web browser, and the four-letter code you send them. No app, no account, no email address.
How many people can play?
Up to 12 devices per game. A couple watching on one phone counts as one player.
What if Grandma isn't a phone person?
She can just watch and call out a cup number when it's her turn. The host taps it for her, and it still counts as hers. If she doesn't have a phone at all, the host adds her as a player in the lobby.
Can we play it on a TV?
Yes. Open nobodypeeks.com/tv on a TV's web browser or a laptop plugged into the TV, and type the room code. The TV shows the cups and the reveal, with sound, while everyone plays on their phones.
Can we do the reveal for more than one group?
Yes. One game covers up to 5 reveals with the same locked answer, for different groups: your side of the family, then theirs, then friends.
Can we try it before the real thing?
Yes. Practice rounds are free and unlimited. They use a made-up answer, so the whole family can learn the game before reveal day.
What if the card won't scan?
The scanner tells you what went wrong, so try more light, a steadier hand, or a step back. After three misses, ask someone who isn't part of the reveal (a neighbour, a friend who won't be on the call) to check the card says the answer in plain words, like IT'S A GIRL or BOY, and scan it or tap it in for you. If it still won't work, refund the game yourself from the lobby in one tap.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Until the game starts, the host can refund it instantly from the lobby, no questions asked (one instant refund per customer). Once a game has started, email us and we'll sort it out.
Does it work for twins?
Yes. It reads cards for twin boys, twin girls, or one of each, and the reveal shows exactly that.
Which video call app do we use?
Whatever you already use: FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp. Nobody Peeks runs in each person's browser alongside the call.
